Glen Echo In-person Workshops! (Saturdays)
Learn how to how to create a beautiful piece of paper art, using different subjects as the inspiration! You will learn the unique technique of Ronni Jolles, as you complete a beautiful piece of art in layered paper. It’s fun and no previous art experience needed. “The Beach” in Layered Paper

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - and the beach will be our inspiration! The beach gives us so many options: the ocean and waves, grasses and dunes, beach umbrellas, sea birds…. You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.
“Italian Townhouses” in Layered Paper

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - and Italian Townhouses will be our inspiration! This is one of the most fun subjects - Windows & flower boxes and vines and clotheslines…Really playful. You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas. For this workshop, I bring lots of wallpaper samples!
“Dock By the Bay” in Layered Paper

This is a new workshop! We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork based on a dock by the bay. We’ll be doing one-point pespective but no prior experience needed. An old wooden dock, with grasses, birds, boats… lots of options. You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.
“Trees by the Lake” in Layered Paper

This is a new workshop!! We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - and we’ll have trees by a lake as our inspiration. You’ll be doing darker brown trees by the water; this is good for beginners or more experienced students. You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.
“ Autumn Trees” in Layered Paper

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - and trees with fall colors will be our inspiration. I suggest that everyone take one of my tree workshops, and this is a fun subject. (FYI: you can do a trees workhsop again and again….as I do!) You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.
“Lighthouse” in Layered Paper

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork based on a lighthouse by the ocean. It’s a lot of fum to create the rocks and the waves of the ocean hitting those rocks! A lot of texture in this one! You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.
“Charming Doorways” in Layered Paper
Saturday, February 20th, 2027: 1-4pm

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - and the charm of old European doorways will be our inspiration. We can add pots of flowers, and vines, and all kinds of fun things by the doorway. You’ll be using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.

MPA In-person Workshops in McLean Community Center! (Sundays) Please visit the MPA website, mpaart.org for the online class catalog & look under Adult Art classes for Adults.
MPA classes will resume in September 2026. (They have a camp over the summer so adult classes dont’ happen until September.) To register for upcoming McLean workshops, you can look on the MPA website (mpaart.org).
New Zoom Class Series in September/October 2026!
I’ll be offering new virtual classes in the fall! These classes are called “Art in a Box” becaues I will ship all supplies and papers to you so you’ll have everything you need! This allows people living all over the North America to participae in these classes. We work together to create beautiful pieces, and it’s fun!
More information will be coming in late August/early September 2026.
“Open Studio:” Mondays: 11am- 1pm
Since the perspective class is for many of my Open Studio students, I won’t be holding the Open Studio until June 15th.
Once again, beginning on June 15th, I’ll continue to offer a weekly Virtual “Open Studio” program, when you can work on pieces you need to finish, or if you want to begin a new piece of your own and you want my help and guidance - this is for you! It’s a wondeful learning experience, and you can participate no matter where you live! You can attend when you’re able - You are only billed for the times you attend. Each class is $65. Contact me if you’d like to join (and you aren’t one of my regulars.)
